About your Photo Session:

     A studio portrait session lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. For a sitting including studio and outdoor photos, allow one and a half to two hours. Portraits are shot digitally in color, and all may be reproduced in black and white as well. During your sitting, I will shoot 100 or more pictures. These will then be edited to around 50-60 of the best shots. You may order enlargements through me, or you can choose to purchase a CD of the images and the right to reproduce them. There is no extra charge for different poses or groupings of people. For example, during a family portrait session, we will do shots of the entire family, the kids together, each child individually, the parents together and so on; whatever combinations you desire. While I always have ideas for poses, I welcome your input. I have props, and you may bring your own if you like.

What to Wear

     I am often asked about clothing for the shoot. I recommend the following: In general, avoid bright colors and strong patterns or stripes. These can take the focus away from the subject. For two or more people, I prefer clothing to be in a medium to light range of tones or a medium to dark range. Light and dark tones together cause the eye to jump around the photo. Subtle colors, such as grays, blues and browns work well. If unsure, you can bring a couple of things to choose from. These are just my preferences. If a bright color or pattern expresses you or your loved one, go for it. For senior portraits, you may bring different outfits and accessories. I suggest at least one formal look as well as some casual options.

     The studio is conveniently located in my Crescent Hill home. The home environment is comfortable and welcoming.

Location Photography

     If you prefer, I can bring my equipment to your home, office or other location.
